East of Tucson

It’s been 11 days on the road since we left from Sulpizio. Such an amazing experience this far. Internet has been spotty. Comfy pavement has been a constant search through Strava and Google Maps, pinching and zooming in as much as we can. Lincoln has been a steady source of smiles and stepping on pieces of his dog food. I really cannot even begin to count the amount of sunscreen we’ve applied. But I can tell you, we’ve ridden 345 miles in 10 days. Not a ton but much more are coming. I figured with Seton being new to riding a road bike and my body adjusting to whatever terrain lies ahead, that lower miles (34-55) would allow us to get ready for the long hours ahead of us finishing up Arizona and heading into New Mexico and Eastern Texas. I am feeling pretty amazing. I am riding solely on keeping an eye on my heart rate. Before this ride and during training, I would typically see 120-145bpm during most of my rides. I feel comfortable, for the most part I don’t need to spend too much time watching my watch. I know the turns, the yields, the flats, the climbs etc. With it being all new, I need to be cautious. Adrenaline is always a factor, because how stoked I am to be able to ride my bike for the next 6+ weeks.

here’s some snaps from today:
